Visit the famous Mughal Gardens – Nishat Bagh (Garden of Delight), Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Love), and Chashme Shahi (Royal Spring), all set beside the serene Dal Lake and offering spectacular views of the Zabarwan Mountains.
In the evening, enjoy a 1-hour Shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding through the floating gardens and traditional markets – a must-do Kashmir experience.

Day 2: Srinagar to Pahalgam

The quickest and most preferred way to reach Kashmir is by flying into Srinagar International Airport (SXR). Daily direct flights operate from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chandigarh. The airport is just 12 km from Srinagar city center, and taxis or cabs are easily available for onward travel.
While there is no direct rail connectivity to Srinagar yet, the nearest major railway station is Jammu Tawi (JAT), located approximately 270 km away. From Jammu, travelers can hire a private taxi or board a local/shared cab to reach Srinagar. The journey by road from Jammu to Srinagar offers breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal ranges and the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel.
For road trippers and adventure lovers, traveling by road can be an exhilarating experience. The National Highway 44 (NH44) connects Srinagar to the rest of India via Jammu. Volvo and deluxe buses operate from Jammu to Srinagar, and self-drive cars or taxis are also available.
